Getting back to normal?
March 2, 2006 10:07 am by TrevorI’m confused as to what is normal anymore. Since I last posted, we have made several trips to the doctors office and have been very busy around here. We took Elijah to the developmental pediatrician and her diagnosis of FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) was no suprise to us. She also stated that he especially had a difficult time because of the time spent in the orphanage. He has progressed tremendously since we brought him home at 19 months of age. His motor skills are almost on target with his age but are still delayed. His communication skills are improving, but are somewhere around 18 or 19 months of age. These are all huge improvements from where he started. Wendi and I believe that Elijah is strong and intelligent and will overcome his obstacles in life. With God all things are possible.
Grace had her EEG done and the results came back great. We visited the doctor the same day as the EEG because she had a cough. The doctor said that she had a little rattle in her chest and that both of her ears were infected. The doctor put her on an antibiotic and breathing treatments. Grace is doing great now and seems to have recovered fully.
Elijah now has cough and had diarrhea for a little over a week. So now you can understand why I said it’s been busy around here. Between work, giving medicine, and changing diapers we have not stopped. Everything seems to be settling down now, so hopefully I will start posting more.
