Bringing Nick Home
December 28, 2006 12:12 pm by WendiUnbelieveable things are happening in our family right now! In recent months we have found out that Elijah has a seven year old brother who is in an orphanage in Russia. He is available for adoption! When we found this out there was no way we could not pursue his adoption. We had definitely not planned on adopting another child at this point. But Trevor and I do not want Elijah to ask us the question one day, “Why didn’t you bring my brother home?” Some people have made the comment, “Well, if they never knew each other then what is the desperation to adopt him?” Our answer to them is, “WE” know about him!” As Elijah’s parents it is our desire to do our utmost to make his life as God intended. No one will ever make us believe that God did not intend for these two brothers to be raised together. God formed them both at the exact moment He wanted them to be formed. It was not by any choices these two boys made that they are not together today. Decisions were made by others that have separated these brothers. God has now given Trevor and I the opportunity to make things right in their little lives. We are so honored by this and are doing everything possible to bring Nick home as soon as we possibly can.
We cherish your prayers and ask that you please pray for us to be able to bring Nick home very soon. Our adoption fees are in excess of $25,000.00. We have some of the funds available but we are asking that you search your heart to see if God would have you help us in this matter. If you feel this is something you would like to do you may donate here on our site. We also have an account set up at Farmers State Bank in Carthage, Texas. Donations can be made to the Trevor Morton Adoption Fund.
We will keep everyone updated on our progress. We would love to be able to share pictures of Nick (he is a doll and looks so much like Elijah) but by Russian laws we cannot legally do so right now. We do have most of our Dossier complete and our agency will be sending it to Russia within a week. Our coordinator is telling us we might very well be able to make our first trip to meet Nick in January or first part of February. What an awesome thing it will be when we get to meet him and hold him in our arms!
Blessings to all of you…our family and friends!
Wendi and Trevor
