School is out!

May 31, 2006 4:38 pm by Wendi

School has ended for the summer and most parents would be glad, I guess. But I had to fight back tears on Elijah’s last day as I knew he would be missing out on so much. He wouldn’t have Mrs. Lagrone, Ms. Pipkin or Ms. Leary. He wouldn’t have the companionship and guidance from his little friends…namely Mario and Eric. But the good news is that he will get to attend summer school on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 2:00. This will start the second week in June and will continue for six weeks. My oldest son, Chris, asked me why I didn’t get excited when HE had to go to summer school! Of course, Chris is now 34 years old and is a real jokster! Anyway, Elijah is back in daycare for the summer and he has a very good caretaker named Ashley. She seems to be very understanding of Eljah and his needs. I am thankful for that. On Saturday, June 3, Elijah will be attending a summer camp called New Destinations. It is for special needs children and is an awesome camp. He will be going all day each Saturday for the month of June. He will have two Occupational Therapy students working with him each Saturday. One is working towards her Masters. Her name is Mandy and seems to be a very caring, insightful young lady. We are so excited about this camp and what it will mean for Elijah to go. I will keep you all posted as to the summer events!
